user comment JayBird JB 200 01 Bluetooth Stereo Headset (Black) Sweatproof is the key....

This is an awesome product IF you require SWEAT PROOF Bluetooth stereo.

-Small form factor enables more activities
-Tiny rubberized buttons keep moisture out
-Good sound quality

If you don't need sweat proof Bluetooth - DO NOT buy this unit.

You'll be disappointed b/c:
- it has small/tiny buttons
- the sound isn't as rich as other on ear Bluetooth
- it always takes a few minutes just to put it on & adjust it to my ear

I hope this helps....

I ordered this because I was getting really tired of the wires. Also my main music playing device is my cell phone which is the XV6800 which does not have a usual 3.5 jack for standard headphones. There had to be an adapter in between to get stereao music. Simply put, that sucks. So I went with the blue tooth wireless option. And this JayBird does not disappoint.

Excellent stereo surround sound. Some people say it sounds quiet or does not have enough bass, but I disagree. Maybe it is because the sound quality coming from my phone is already good as is. The sound is loud, clear and has the right amount of bass to me. Can control volume, play, pause...the works. As a headset, people on the other side usually have no problems hearing me clearly. Some even said I sound clearer through the JayBird than without. When the battery is running low the connection does get broken up, but that is to be expected. The JayBird hangs on your ears tight! It will not come off unless you are in a fight and getting punched in the head. To test it I have jumped up and down, shaken my head 'till I got dizzy and it does not come off.

The only negative I noticed is the bluetooth range on the headset is fairly short. With the phone in my jean pockets, sometimes the music will cut in and out depending if something is in the direct line of sight from my pocket to the headphones. The manual does say the best range is around your chest area.

All in all, great great product. Exactly what I wanted and it serves very well as both headphones and headset.

Sound Quality: 5/5. Bass isn't outstanding, but I wouldn't expect it to be, being wireless and all. Otherwise very happy with the fidelity.

Comfort: 4/5. For the most part very comfortable, during normal use you can barely tell you're wearing them. The behind-the-ear portion sometimes makes my ears ache a bit after an extended period or a longer run (5k+) due to the slight "Dumbo-Effect" mentioned by another reviewer, but nothing I can't bear.

Fit: 4/5. It sometimes takes a few attempts to find the exact amount of rotation to make the buds fit in your ear perfectly. The reason for this is that they slide into your ear at an angle, so they need to be rotated to point forward and up. Fits comfortably in the ear canal once you get it right. Stays in your ear while you run.

Reliability: 5/5. Works perfectly with iPhone 3GS with no hassle at all. I am able to use the buds, control music, and use Nike+ all at once which is the main thing I wanted. I'm very happy with the Bluetooth range/quality. For me it worked up to about 20 feet away and through 1 wall. This is far more than I'll ever need, my iPhone is either in my pocket or strapped to my arm. Not sure if this is just because of my new phone, but sound quality did not degrade as I got further away from my device like some devices have in the past. It just stopped playing when I got too far, then reconnected automatically when I was back in range

Style/construction/weight: 5/5 Very sexy looking and low profile. Sturdy, no physical flaws that I can find. Sweat-proof as advertised. Very lightweight.

Battery life: ?/5: Haven't timed the battery life yet, but I have noticed the battery doesn't seem to drain at all when they're turned off which is good.

Other thoughts: Not marshmallow style buds, so they don't block noise, which is a feature I actually like. I can hear bicyclists coming behind me, and I can hold a conversation even with music playing(at low/medium volume), so I sometimes wear them at the office while I'm working.

If you've never used wireless buds before, let me just say that lack of a cord adds to the comfort/convenience value immensely. No cord bouncing around, getting in your way, tugging the buds out of your ears... and most importantly: no cord noise.

Purchased Acoustibuds based on another review and was not happy with them. They don't fit every ear, so beware.

Reviewer: K. Boegel,
Overall I think these are a great product. I had a wireless headphone from logitech, but they hurt my ears after about 20 minutes wearing them. The Jaybird are very comfortable. I often have them on for over 1 hour, and sometimes forget that I have them on. They don't move once in place and the sound quality is great. I have only had them for about 1 month so I can't comment on how long they will last, but if you take care of them, I can't see any reason why they wouldn't last for a few years.

Reviewer: Ryan S. Shaw,
I bought these for use with my iPhone 3GS. So far, they have been exactly what I expected from reading other reviews on Amazon prior to purchase. Like many, I did have to order the Acoustibuds for these to gain a true fit, and stay in place while I'm doing cardio at the gym, and recommend just going ahead and adding them to your order if you are purchasing here on Amazon. I haven't had any problem at all with sound quality, and I've found that the range is exactly what I'd expect from any bluetooth device. Another thing to note is that the bluetooth "headset" functionality, for use with the phone, doesn't always work (this may be an iPhone 3GS glitch). But I didn't buy these to use as a telephone headset, so this was unimportant to me.

Overall, I would highly recommend buying these. The freedom from a tether to your iPod makes workouts much more enjoyable as I'm no longer fumbling with the wire, making sure it is out of the way. Once you get used to these, they are so lightweight, you can't even tell they are there.
